Paul Pfeiffer

“I am interested in a certain spiritual dimension to the work that I’m doing. A lot of the titles I use come from either religious sources like the Bible or from religious painting. I’m less interested in religion, and more interested in the relationship between religion and the history of religion, the history of art, the history of human consciousness. To me, all these things are very interconnected. It seems difficult to think about contemporary video, even TV broadcasting, without talking about the precedent of painting.”
